About Me…

Welcome 6th Grade Griffin Wildcats! Thanks so much for visiting our 6th Math grade blog!  I’m so excited about this school year!  I’m sure that I will learn much about you and your family as the year progresses.  It’s always nice to know a little bit about the people that your child spends most of his/her weekdays with.  So here goes…

I was born and raised in the sunshine state of Florida — Miami, Florida to be exact.  While this is a really cool place to visit (and I still do), I graduated from high school and moved to Tampa, Florida.  I lived there for nine years. This is the place where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology and a master’s degree in Elementary education.  I attended the magnificent University of South Florida – Go Bulls!  In Tampa, I also met and married my now wonderful husband who is also a teacher in Cobb county.  I moved to the metro Atlanta area in 2006 to teach elementary school for the first time. Although I’ve taught for nearly 13 years, this is my first year as a middle school teacher teaching my favorite subject!

My husband is a teacher at Green Acres Elementary!  I also have two amazing kiddos – one that’s a 4th grader at Teasley Elementary and another in 7th grade at Lovinggood Middle.  This is my thirteenth year teaching and my first year at Griffin. Did I say I was excited to be here?  I’m ecstatic about being a Griffin Wildcat!  I hope that you feel the same. Be Great!  Be Griffin!
